Today was a beautiful day  in DC. Memorial Day

I think Memorial Day’s a great idea in principle.  But the problem with Memorial Day is that it doesn’t mean anything in the United States, where only 1% or less of the population is military veterans. Washington: The city is covered in petals

Washington, DC and the Maryland suburbs are covered in petals.  Everywhere you go, the wind blows small pink pollen at you, and the petals are constantly in your hair and on your mind, like silent moths.
