Women, careers, big cities, and other thoughts

April 30, 2009

I’ve been thinking a lot about women lately.  I’ve seen a couple articles floating around online about the role of women in the workplace, with children, and so on.  Penelope Trunk talks a lot about it in her blog (which you can Google because I’m still undecided whether I want to link to her).   While I’m convinced that she’s having a mental breakdown, in the meantime, she is running a company and taking care of two children, one of ...

Voting in India

April 24, 2009

January 27, 2009

When I got married this past October, I remember the happy times: I also remember the not-so-happy times: changing my last name (did I mention, by the way, that I HATE being called Mrs.?) I had this debate in my head for a long time, ever since we got engaged.  Do I change my last name and achieve family unity with my husband, making everything from insurance to office parties easier?  Or do I keep my last name and remain ...
