Breakfast at Boykis

Mr. B loves Audrey Hepburn.  Has seen every single one of her movies.  He loves her because she’s “the only classy and beautiful actress of the modern era” and has “redefined  what being a woman means.”

We were re-watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s today.  I can understand why he likes her.  We have a striking resemblance both in physique and personality.

  1. That picture…freaked the hell out of me. You’re getting good at this photoshop thing! Also, props to Mr. B for including the 1950s in the modern era.

    • I have to admit, it scares me too. Why props? Are you saying that some people don’t count it as modern?

  2. Plus, she has YOUR fine taste in clothing.
I love that movie. Cried like a madwoman. Then read the story and cried even worse.

    • Because it ends much differently than in the movie? Yeah, it was devastating.

  3. Matt: Breakfast at Tiffany’s was released in 1961.

Vicki: OK so we won’t tell Mr. B that Holly Golightly was actually a prostitute, ok? It’ll be our little secret.

    Happy Passover!

    • And that she was also possibly bisexual and had an abortion and also swore every other line in the book? No, we’ll keep that from him for now. Hag sameach.

  4. Wow, I had no idea. I watched that movie only once, at a late-night showing on campus as part of our university’s film series.

Watching it in the company of my Vietnamese roommate left me with the impression that it was, cute, fun, and embarassingly racist. That and the cigarette holder are pretty much all I remember.
