You haven’t seen it? Seriously? The “cats” are the animals who accompany the Cossacks on their raids at the beginning of the movie. While the Cossacks burn down the (human) Jewish homes, the Cossak cats chase and almost devour Feivel, and terrorize the other (Jewish) mice.
It’s fucked up.
Good God. That is downright traumatic.
I have never seen it either.
I have a feeling I won’t be watching it now.
